Brendan Drew, ACA General Manager – Cricket Operations and Player Relations, said players have welcome the expansion of the WNCL and the return to a full fixture in the Marsh Cup and Sheffield Shield.
“A full fixture for both men's and women's domestic cricket is crucial to the health and success of the game in Australia," said Drew.
"This summer the WNCL expands to 12 games per team and a total of 43 games. Providing an increase in playing opportunities for female domestic cricketers is a long-held aim of the ACA's and we thank CA for working with us towards this."
Drew added that it was also great that both the Marsh Sheffield Shield and Marsh One-Day Cup will return to full fixtures after two seasons impacted by COVID.
