The WBBL season shifts to the north of Tasmania this weekend, so we’re shining a light on how the Grassroots Cricket Fund has made a difference to the Launceston Lions CC and their home, the NTCA Ground.
Through Grassroots Cricket Fund partner, Flicx, the Lions had access to a discount on a brand-new artificial pitch which increased capacity for training and matches at the club.
“The Grassroots Cricket Fund grant has helped the Launceston Cricket Club to purchase a Flicx pitch,” says Club President, Glenn Joyce.
“This has allowed the club to host junior matches on the outfield of it's home ground at the NTCA Complex, and it has also been used for senior training.”
“We are grateful that the purchase of the Flicx pitch has expanded the access we have to playing and training facilities.”

This year, for the first time, those funds will also be made available to Indoor Cricket Centres and Premier Cricket Clubs.
