ACA Executes Amendment to its MoU with Cricket Australia

3 December, 2024

In October the ACA executed an amendment to its MoU with Cricket Australia.

The key feature of the amendment agreement were terms for the introduction of the women’s T20 Spring Challenge Competition as a reallocation of content following the reduction of WBBL matches from 14 to 10 games per team. It also saw domestic female player earnings increased by up to $7,000.

The deal saw Cricket Australia make a contribution of an additional $2.5 million from outside the Player Payment Pool towards the new competition and an additional 1% of above-forecast Australian Cricket revenue (from 27.5 to 28.5% of above forecast ACR) to be paid into the 2023-2028 PPP Adjustment Ledger.

While the MoU amendment was primarily agreed to capture terms of the new competitions there were additional improvements agreed including.

  • Series Win Bonus allocations for multi-format series for Australian Women’s Team; and
  • Updates to State and W/BBL contracting and remuneration rules.
