The ACA extends its thoughts and sympathy to the family and friends of Mr. John Rutherford - the 204th man to play Test cricket for Australia, following his passing last week.
Rutherford's international debut came in Bombay in 1956 during Australia's first-ever tour to India as part of an extended trip which included matches in England and Pakistan.
The right-handed opening batter was the first representative from Western Australia to play for his country. In total he played 33 Sheffield Shield matches for WA as part of his 67-match First-Class career, compiling over 3,000 runs with six centuries.
More on Rutherford's life and career is available on the WA Cricket website here.
