Vale Wendy Blunsden

The Australian Cricketers’ Association is deeply saddened by the passing of former Australian captain Wendy Blunsden.

A pioneer of the game who helped pave the way for following generations, Blunsden played seven Test matches for Australia between 1972-76, including one as captain against New Zealand in 1975.

The all-rounder also played eight one-day internationals and holds ODI cap #1.

Blunsden also captained South Australia over a five-year period between 1969-1974

She passed away on 1 August aged 77.

The ACA sends its condolences to Wendy’s family.
