Sydney Sixers captain Moises Henriques has been selected by his peers to lead the talent-laden 2021-22 ACA BBL All*Star team.
Aside from being one of the most respected in the competition - having led the Sixers to the last two BBL titles, Henriques is selected in the side’s middle order having amassed a team-high 433 runs throughout the season.
He is alongside Sixers colleagues Josh Philippe (wicketkeeper), Hayden Kerr and Sean Abbott (12th man).
At the top of the batting order sits Ben McDermott, the competition’s leading run-scorer this season and the first player to score a century in back-to-back Big Bash matches.
McDermott, who is partnered atop the order with Englishman Joe Clarke, says the peer-voted award is great recognition.
“I’d like to thank all the players who voted for me, it’s always nice to be recognised your peers. It was a very memorable season for me personally, one that will stick with me a long time.”
T20 World Cup winner and Melbourne Stars skipper, Glenn Maxwell, is selected at three with his tremendous 154* on the final game of the season still fresh in the memory of many cricket fans around the country.
Fellow T20 World Cup, Mitch Marsh, is the Perth Scorchers’ representative in the XI and English gloveman Sam Billings is selected from the Sydney Thunder.
Rashid Khan leads the side’s spin bowling stocks, selected alongside Adelaide Strikers teammate Peter Siddle to spearhead the attack with Kane Richardson from the Melbourne Renegades.
