Players Cordon

Players Cordon is a charity established by the Australian Cricketers’ Association to provide benevolent relief and financial, social, and emotional support to Australian Cricketers and their families experiencing disadvantage. Players Cordon, at its core, protects cricket's stalwarts, all around the country, who keep the game thriving from representative level through to grassroots.

Driven to assist the dozens of hands-on supporters, community volunteers, coaches, players and ACA members, the charity focuses its efforts on providing essential care to those who feel they have exhausted all options. It encourages applicants to work towards long-term self-sufficiency while exploring other available avenues of assistance.

The ACA was established in 1997 with the mission statement to support the game’s players, shortly after establishing its first union-acclaimed hardship fund. In 2011, the fund was expanded upon, including immediate family or dependents of ACA members who were in necessitous circumstances. With each development, the support by the cricketing community has been unequivocal.

Players Cordon achieves its community-focused goals by helping those in need with one-off crisis payments to assist with essential living expenses, facilitating access to medical and wellbeing support services, providing extensive mental health support, and critical responses for those who have experienced acute misfortune. Players Cordon aims to provide practical assistance and social support for the Australian cricketing community.

The charity embraces anyone who loves cricket. Fans, coaches, volunteers, members, donors, partners, and sponsors are all welcome to contribute so Players Cordon can continue to support those in need throughout our cricket community.
